The trailers of the film were not appealing, but the music was. The story resembled Sorry Bhai, but only to a small extent.. The question was Will two not so good actors Imran and Katrina would manage to keep you interested in the film throughout, with Ali Zafar not having a bigger role. The answer, you will get at the end of the review ...

Film's opening sequence though begins on interesting note with Padosan's song in background over the good locales, but as the scene develops, you get the feeling of 'How overdone its in terms of direction'. Thats the feeling I get at various places in the film.

What keeps you hold on to the film is the good laughing moments that keep coming at pretty much right time, along with the awesome music the film has.

The script could had been better, I was looking for lots more twists. It was heading in a straight direction from interval onwards which was a big dissappointment. Editing was fine. Dialogues were uneven, some good while some poor ones.. Ali Abbhas Zafar needs to work a lot on his direction skills, I aint impressed with his debut effort. He surely tackled the romantic scenes very well, but the drama which is the main part of film is where he lacked the most.

The songs are very well placed, my fav is ishq risk.. very beautiful (though Imran hams in it). Choomantar and Dhunki are good too while Do dhaari talwaar was the surprise package of the film, liked it a lot.

The best moments of the film ---

• Imran's starting two attempts of finding the girl.
• The scooter scene involving Imran and Katrina.
• The rapidfire scene between Ali and Katrina
• Choomantar and intial sequence of Ishk risk.
• Do Dhaari Talwaar, amazing energy.
• The badminton scene between Tara and Imran, and the next scene involving dialogues between Imran and Ali.

Performances wise,
Imran Khan was over-acting in pretty much most part of the film, he was good at some places though. But some other actor instead of him could had made the film more likeable for sure.

Katrina Kaif, if her bad hindi dialogue delivery is kept aside.. then she was really good in the entire film. She reminded me a lot of her character in 'Ajab prem ki gazab kahani'. Pretty, cute, hot and talkative.

Ali Zafar was very good. At places he did falter, but I would consider that as director not able to get the best out of him from the scene. Specially love the scene where he is shocked to see Imran and Tara playing badminton.

Great to see amazing actors Kanwaljeet Singh and Parikshat Sahni in a film again.. I specially love Kanwaljeet sir's acting a lot. He should get more roles in hindi films.

Tara D'Souza was nice, reminded of Gisselle in 'I Hate Luv Storys', though much better than her.

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub was awesome. Remember. 'Manish' of No one Killed Jessica. He has got lots of talent, looking forward to see him act in future projects too. Though, only character roles would suit him...

Overall, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan was a decent watch. Thanks to all the small good moments of laughter coming in short intervals regularly...

Verdict : Above Average
