Kishore Kumar may have probably sung many better songs or superhit songs than this one. Yet whenever someone asks me my favourite Kishore Kumar song this song will always come first in my list. No particular reason I just happen to love it way too much, infact I would be very mad at radio if it was playing this song and didn't play the 'zindagi toh bewaffa' antara. The lyrics very well shows the harsh reality of life that is full of pain especially for some particular people who get very less happiness, and yet it's asking to take a leap of faith and trying to motivate. Another nostalgic song for me and I remember how many times I had heard it during the school days. Akshay Kumar is a very good dancer, but what I have always loved about him in dance tracks is the energy he brings to them, and if you watch the video carefully you would very much agree too. A great Anu Malik composition that's very well sung by both Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan.

Even though the choreography has some unintentional comical bits, I miss these kind of songs these days where in the climax the heroines dance at the villian's adda and then there's the heroic entry of their heroes to rescue them. Gulshan Grover's 'flute' part in the song specially stands out. The entire theme of rule of bad/corrupt is going to come to an halt, is so well explored, and same can be said for the way song is used in Scam 1992 series too. All the singers compliment each other very well, and great to watch the likes of Divya Bharti, Amrish Puri (2:55-3:15 specially), Naseeruddin Shah and many more in the visuals.

I don't know if it was the fact that I was still in my early 20s that I enjoyed his songs a lot, or he was really so good during that time. I still love this song, has great catchy beats, Himesh vocals that suits the lyrics and the choreography is decent too. There's a recreated version by Tanishk Bagchi in 'The Body' movie, which is very bad.

One of the songs where the female is trying to woo the guy who refuses to fall into the love trap. I love that music piece right after the end of prelude. Great composition that instantly gives vibes of the music of 80s era along with perfect vocals of Manhar Udhas & Alka Yagnik. There's also a KGF version of song and if you are able to listen that in a one go then I would consider it a victory, it's that bad.

Love this qawwali a lot and I feel it must be favourite of most of the people during the 2000's decade specially ones involved in long distance relationships. There's that deep desperation in the song and also the voice of excellent Sabri brothers (the version I prefer) where the person just wants to meet and can't take it anymore without him/her. Sameer's lyrics for a change aren't ordinary and appeal a lot, specially the 1st and last antara's. Also, check out Jaspinder Narula's version, which is pretty nice too.

Hema Malini and Feroz Khan pairing looks so beautiful in this song. Its a romantic number filmed mostly on a jeep, a trope that was pretty regular in pre90s era especially. Among best tracks of Mukesh, and sometimes I feel jealous off the people born in the Kishore-Rafi-Mukesh times, so lucky they were to listen never ending gems from these 3 greats. Nothing to take away from Kanchan, she's very much equally a reason for this song to be so famous, her voice suiting Hema Malini totally.

A very emotional song, that starts on a note of remembering your loved one in a sweet way and then there's the transformation in the final stanza where he questions if she even remembers their old talks or has moved on. Easily can feel the pain in those lyrics, written by Mehboob and excellent Hariharan's vocals with the right use of Kavita Krishnamurthy's humming. Also, it's one of best characters Salman Khan has played, doing full justice to this track.

It feels like a polite rant/frustration towards the thing called 'Life'. The guy wants the life to be kind to him, and embrace him like he does while willing to live a simple life without demanding too much. Gulzar's lyrics are really deep, I don't really understand the first line of the final antara. There's a sweet innocence in the song, which gets highlighted lot more way its filmed on Sridevi. Also, the re-created version in 'Dear Zindagi' is very good that has same lyrics and keeps the mood of original alive, its sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Amit Trivedi.

Qurbani is among those albums that has every song likeable, but my personal favourite is 'Laila main Laila'. Anandji Kalyanji composition begins with amazing drum beats to set the tempo and then Kanchan's beautiful vocals that match Zeenat Aman in the visuals. I love how they reference Majnu in the lyrics and also the 'gulu gulu' part of Amjad adds fun element to the track. He is actually hilarious to watch in entire song giving all those reaction shots and Amit Kumar vocals go well with him. Pawni Pandey's remix version in Raees is also pretty good, I still prefer original but have to recommend at a good attempt of re-creating old classic giving it right item song touch.

This was the start of little quality 'Lucky Ali' time we got in the Hindi Movies Industry with his biggest hit 'Ek pal ka jeena'. Also, it was the start of Hrithik Roshan in the Khans era, his dance moves were a thing and you would eagerly wait to see him in next film with tougher dance moves that he would pull off with ease. Credits also goes to the great choreography and those dance steps (specially that guitar bit) that even today everyone would wanna groove to. Also, very much like Dhoom Machale, its a dance track that has meaningful lyrics and not just is asking you to dance at the beats.

K.S Chithra's voice expresses that extreme pain, emptiness/loneliness feeling, happy memories sounding painful, broken dreams and how you feel your existence is of no value without that person. 'Aa jao laut kar tum, yeh dil keh raha hai' line adding to the misery because deep within you know its just a wishful thinking that won't happen.

The song works 2 ways for me, one is the obvious audio with Asha Bhosle's vocals giving the perfect feels to enjoy a drink at home or at bar, and other is the visuals of the sensuous looking Parveen Babi in that costume making this song even great to watch with fun reactions from both Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor.

Not sure if labelling this as a odd song would be right, because it's the track that started my mad passion for Hindi music when I would daily listen to this track on tv or radio until I got tired off it, a habit I applied later on to endless other songs. Out of all the Dhoom title tracks, this one is my personal favourite even though there's no match to Hrithik's dance steps in 'Dhoom Again'. It's not just one of Sunidhi's best song, but also as a dance number I quite like the lyrics that is urging you to fall in love and not be afraid of it. Little controversial but one of rare times when I find Sameer's lyrics quite good.

Brilliantly sung by Mohd Rafi, with a small cameo at the end by Geeta Dutt. Picturised on Johnny Walker beautifully capturing some of the Bombay locales.

Love this song that many may not know about and I myself discovered it very late. It talks about deep love for someone that's slowly transforming into madness leading to do anything wrong to get that person. Udit Narayan's rendition along with superbly written lyrics turn this into a very lovely track. The only negative I found was the average picturisation and how Udit's voice didn't sync with Aditya Pancholi for most part of the song. The audio version is definately worth a listen! One of under-rated gems from Anu Malik.

I love the final few vocals of Kishore Kumar, he is at his dramatic best.

Words will fall short describing how good Kay Kay is in this track, the feeling of loneliness and just surviving, not living is brought out by him with a gem of composition by MM Kreem. Sayeed Qadri's lyrics are so good that its hard to actually pick just one fav line from the track.

Post 8:49 in the video link is the sad/death version of the track about just a min long sung by MM Kreem himself . Easily among my top 5 picks when it comes to favourite romantic track of pre 90s. The melodious composition of R.D Burman paired with lovely duet vocals by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, and lyrics complimenting each other beautifully. I love that clap part they do in the video and also the cute face Rishi Kapoor makes throughout. Just shows how a simple choreographed song without any extras in background can work so damn well. Specially the 1st part of video where the setting is just a room of house, the other part however does go little cliched running around trees way.

For most people, 'Bheege honth tere' or 'Kabhi jo baadal' would qualify as best romantic-sensual combo song. But for me, this is the track that always comes to my mind instantly, and its because of the feeling the song generates, not the visuals. The humming start from Chitra itself sets the mood up and then Kumar Sanu takes over with M.M Kreem's near perfect composition. I love the Ramya Krishnan scene, the tune so well fits with the heartbreak she is going through while the entire song is based on love of Nagarjuna and Manisha. The only hiccup probably comes in form of the english part before the final antara, could had totally avoided it or kept some shayari/hindi lines instead. There's also a telugu version (original I think) of the song that is sung by SP Balasubramaniam and Chitra.

It's easily the best song of Atif Aslam for me. The pain of losing a loved one, the good and bad memories associated with that person, and how badly it has effected your life is a theme done way too many times in our songs, and here its one of those occasions when the execution both visually and audio wise work so well thanks to the brilliant composition. Also, it was the debut movie of Kunal Khemu as a lead. The long alaap near the end of song is my fav part, always gives the feeling of unleashing all the anger/hurt inside loudly out.

Love the starting music arrangement. Lata Mangeshkar's 'toot gayi toot ke main choor ho gayi' part is lovely, however its a total Udit Narayan song for me. Shiv Hari's melodious composition and Anand Bakshi's lyrics that work despite being so over the top bringing in the mad love angle even more. Its one of Shahrukh Khan's best performances, and as expected he nails the expressions of a mad lover. Interestingly, if you watch carefully, Shahrukh's attire never changes while Juhi's does throughout the song.

The video is a bit underwhelming though..
