Good entertainer about day dreaming to various real life adventures.

Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller) loves his co-worker Cheryl Melhoff (Kristen Wiig), but Walter has a shy persona plus he has habit of day dreaming, which makes him try to say his feelings for her through a dating website. The place where they work is about to go through changes and workers being sacked. Walter who works as main person dealing with photo negatives, gets Sean O'Connell project (Sean Penn) and finds an important negative missing which is the one he says is a gift to Walter, and also the one that he wants to be cover photo of the magazine. Now, Walter has to find the negative, for that he has to locate Sean, and for that he has to take help of other negatives to find his whereabouts. Walter has no idea that he has a long adventurous and real fun ahead.

The first scene reminded me of the last scene of 'The  Social Network', though here the result is different, Walter does click on the button. I loved the humor in the film, and also how the day dreaming aspect of Walter is utilized in first 30-40 mins. Special mention to the scene where he dreams his boss trying to snatch one of his childhood toy, and he tries to run away like a superhero. And when he dreams Cheryl loves him (2nd time, didn't like the 1st dream that much).

But instead of day dreaming sequences, what actually is lovable about movie is the entire adventurous tour Walter goes through. The helicopter scene, the jump into ship, the hilarious conversation in water, the journey to Afghanistan in extreme cold conditions, the cycle ride, volcano.. he truly gets to have adventure of a lifetime.

Ben Stiller is present in almost every scene of the movie, and he enacts the main role very well. The nerdy shy nature, the anger and different look in day dreaming sequences, the humor he shows during the adventure, the hesitation while talking with Cheryl and 'what the fuck' expression when Sean tells him where the  missing negative is.

Sean O'Connell dialogue on 'admiring the moment' was very good one.

The pace of movie is slow throughout, though it didn't bother me much. Ending was spot on, we don't really see too much change in Walter.

I found it weird that Walter doesn't check what the missing negative is about, and just hands it over to his boss. But then, Walter was always that kinda of person.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a good light entertainer that takes us through Walter's day dreaming to his various adventures from Greenland to Iceland to Afghanistan.

Verdict : 3/5
