Kyunnn thak rahi hain ...

I liked Housefull a lot, and hence despite having find all the trailers of Housefull 2 not that attractive, there was a feeling I may end up liking this film. But, it turned out to be very bad film.

JD (Mithun Chakraborty) is a millionaire who was once a well known Jagga Dakku, one by one every Jolly along with their love and their families, end up reaching his house. Only JD's son, Jolly (Ritiesh Deskhmukh) is real, rest try to have different identities for their own purposes. Amidsts all this confusion, Sajid tries to showcase many comic moments.

Firstly, the film is too loud. Just notice actors like Randhir Kapoor and specially Rishi Kapoor, who are asked to shout as loudly as possible while delivering their dialogues. At one time, I totally began to dislike Rishi Kapoor in the film, thats how badly Sajid made him look. Then, the comedy at many places that simply brings no laugh, like Aakhiri Pasta (Chunky Pandey) who was a big laugh riot for me in the last film, he is simply ordinary this time, with a nonsense bathroom of one house to bedroom of other shift. Comedy doesn't need silly things to be done by actor, which Sajid Khan has to understand.

I really liked the pairing of the actors, Akshay (Sunny) - Asin (Henna), John (Max) - Jacqueline (Bobby), Ritiesh (Jolly) - Zarine (JLo) and Shreyas (Jai) - Shazahn (Parul). But Sajid fails to extract so so much from such a good pairing. Some of best scenes he does bring out were, Sunny teaching Henna how to say in a dirty way 'Aeeeeee'. Bobby giving a lecture to Max on all the animal clothes he wears. The chopper scene where JLo complains to Jolly.

Another problem with the film is, the numerous re-bondings which appear so much fake. Must say, the fights incurred between Sunny-Max, JD-Batook(Boman Irani) are well directed. But, a sudden fight turning into friendship between Sunny-Max(ala Waqt Hamaara Hai) was undigestable, more to blame John here who performed the scene badly. While, Henna and Bobby bonding was silly more due to Sajid's direction. And the film had to end on another re-bonding, JD and Sunny. When JD accepts his mistake to Sunny, it more like appeared him saying 'I was just having 5 mins of timepass, kab se bandook nahi chalayi thi..'. Sigh, we audience had to tolerate those 5 mins Mr JD. And another was, Sunny getting slapped by his father who teaches him never to hurt any girl's feelings. How quickly Sunny realizes it. How Max steals things as if the other people are the dumbest ones not to realize it (Remember Parvarish, there has to be a way to do it, Sajid!). The cliches are galore in this movie.

Sajid Khan's direction was just terrible, having liked his both films Housefull and Heyy Baby. Surely, it was a case of one film gone totally wrong. Happens with well known directors too. The dialogues of the film are stupid, at times irritating too. Cinematography is nice.

The songs aren't exciting either like they were in Housefull, still they are enjoyable as compared to the comedy situations in the film. I like 'Papa ko band bajaaye' song, very good choreography, just wish the costumes were better, those coats and colour choice was bad. While, 'Right here right now' and 'Humhe tumse mohabbat' were good romantic numbers. 'Anarkali' was a yawn song for me, Malliaka can't get every item number right.

Akshay Kumar was in his usual form, nothing exceptional except for two dialogues 'Aeeeeeee' and 'kyun thak rahi hai'. John Abraham is very average in this film, at places he does get his comic timing right, but he outdoes his anger at many situations and fails in lots of other scenes too.

Ritiesh Deshmukh does well in his role, specially that crocodile sequence, or the one where he explains who is Jolly on a blackboard. Shreyas Talpade is just about okay, I feel he needs a career changing movie now, almost doing the same kind of movies.

All the actresses looked very good, but their roles were very much limited, and have hardly any stealing scenes in the movie. Shazahn performance looked ordinary among all.

Mithun Chakraborty was probably the best among all the actors in the movie, that first conversation he has with Jolly one of my favs, or the Jaggu Daaku flashback sequence. Boman Irani was good in small cameo, he should had been given more scenes instead of the irritating with Rishi and Randheer. Johnny Lever is decent, with one great scene where he shuts off Aakhiri Pasta. Ranjeet has a lovely cameo, specially that end credits scene 'baby baby, beti beti', why did they keep in extra scenes.. so stupid!

Overall, Housefull 2 is a film that just doesn't work at all. Poor writing, poor dialogues and poor direction, along with some poor loud acting. Few good moments here and there, thats it. Sajid just tried too hard to outdo his last successful film, but ends up in making a film that should be quickly forgotten.

Verdict : POOR
